Luke 4:16-21

The Old Testament is filled with promises, prophecy and traditions about the coming of the Lord.  Between the prophecies and the scripture reading today was more than a thousand years.  Many would have forgotten or even chosen to disbelieve the prophecies because of the years.
But at the end of the day, the messiah came in fulfilment of the prophecy.  He read what was written about him in Isaiah 61:103 and then proclaim to all and sundry. “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears”. Just imagine! Hundreds of years had come to pass and it seemed as if the Word would go unfulfilled.  Alas! It came to pass.

Beloved, the Word of God is eternal.  It is a living organism.  Once it has been written or proclaimed and sent to you, “it will not return unto (God) void”.  It must accomplish what it was sent to do.  There are however a few things that can affect its fulfilment.  You may think the time is too long and that God had forgotten. You may even think you have waited too long and you can’t cope again. Relax, have faith, be patient.  Your word shall be fulfilled.

Again, laziness and complacency may affect it.  If God promises abundance, you must work to bring it to pass.

And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. Ezra 6:14.

Can you see? The elders builded and prospered because they took steps on the prophecy they received.  If you receive the word and you do not “work” with it, you shall remain at the realm of prophecy; and there will be nothing to show for your faith. Get up and get going with the word.  God had spoken about this year and this month? It is your year of Endless Possibilities. What have you done further to the word?  He will not come down from heaven to fulfil the word in your life.  It is you that will work it out.  Do something.
