John 10:31-38

Here we have a situation very strange to the Jews of Jesus’ days.  They took Jesus to task: “Declare it if you are the Messiah or not”!  Rather than a Yes or no answer, he declared his oneness with God, His Father.  And they took stones to kill him.   Why?  He asked them.  “For a good work, we stone thee not; but because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God”.  How did Jesus make himself God?  By declaring that God is his Father!  Jews knew the implication of calling   God your Father.  What the father is, the son is.

In response, Jesus referred them to the word by quoting Psalm 82:6 “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”.  He now capped it up by saying “if he called them gods, unto which the word of God came…. (vs 35).   Hence, what the Lord was saying is that the secret of being called” gods” was because” the word came unto them”.  So, it is the word that made them gods.

To be a god is to live like one.  Being a god is success living; filled with wonders; overcoming temptations and obstacles, succeeding in your area of calling and being a wonder to your generation.  Remember Paul and Barnabas?  When they did the miraculous, the people said, the gods are come to us, (Acts 14: 11).  What made them gods?  The word came to them:  Separate unto me Barnabas and Paul…. (Acts 13:2).  The word came, they believed and they took steps and they became wonders.

Beloved, the word has the capacity to make you a god over those circumstances of your life.  Get the word, it is the secret.  It is the compass; it is the power back-up you need; it is the divine messenger to make you have dominion in life and destiny.  When you have the word over a particular situation, you become a god prevailing over it.  We see you getting on top of your situations and circumstances in Jesus’ name.

MEDITATION:  He called them gods unto whom the word came.
