THE SUFFICIENCY OF GOD’S GRACE

2 Cor. 12: 9

Grace is the free and undeserved favour, an unmerited divine assistance given by God to us His children for the fulfillment and actualization of the potentials he has given to them. It is the lubricant that lubricates a man’s life for performance. The divine ability of God that enables a man to do a thing.

Without the grace of God in a man’s life, struggling and striving become imminent. Hence, the man will face a lot of difficulties that without God’s intervention he will not be able to overcome. From cradle to the grave, we all need the all-sufficient grace of God, most especially in our Christian faith and walk with God.

Before he got converted, Apostle Paul was zealous in persecuting the church until grace found him out in Acts 9:15 of which he testified to in Gal. 1:15. By this same grace all believers are saved not by anyone’s righteousness lest he boasts. In Titus 3: 3-7, we are told that we all were once like Saul of Tarsus, foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another, zealous in the wrong things until the grace of God found us out. Verse 5 of that text tells us that not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us. In verse 7, he further stated that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

There is no situation or circumstance that the grace of God cannot handle in a man’s life. Sin is the only barrier that can hinder a man from enjoying the grace of God as we see in Rom. 6:1.

We must first receive the gift of Salvation and endeavor to live a life of holiness, so that the all-sufficient grace of God continues to abound in us and for us.
