ACKNOWLEDGING GOOD THINGS IN OTHERS
Romans 14:10
It is obvious that every man and woman have strength and weakness. It is important to note that what you amplify is easily established and what you play down can possibly go to extinction. People are raised when you praise them and they increase when you praise them but dampened when you talk down on them.
We are not talking of mere compliments, but a habitual and conscious looking out for what others do better, what others know, the gifts and talents of others.
Today as you go out, look out for the strength of others (friends/colleagues/family) and acknowledge it to their faces. Amplify their strengths; let someone feel good through your acknowledgement. Encourage them to be the best of themselves. Encourage through comments like you are a good counselor, such a great teacher, good voice, you sing well, you are a nice boy, you have good family, good instinct, you’re a good man, acknowledging every good gift in others is scriptural.
Philippians 2:3: Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves
Hebrews10:24: And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
The intent is to help people multiply in their areas of strength and this will result in better society. Join the band wagon today; get into the business of lifting others by acknowledging their strengths; acknowledge what others do but you cannot do or what you can do but they do better.
Romans 15:2: Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
This attitude is not a reducer but a lifter. You will reap what you sow.
Proverbs 11:25: The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Commend hard work, innovation, efforts, commend and condemn not. Be an edifier in every relationship you are, a promoter of other people’s strength. Be soothing in all relationship and interactions.
CONFESSION: I am a lifter and my God is the chief lifter.
