Hebrews 3:8-19
Faith is powerful. It has been described as the currency of heaven. Nothing happens at the spiritual realm without faith. Conversely, Unbelief is equally powerful. With unbelief, nothing gets done. It hinders the Spirit of God from moving in a man’s life. Where there is unbelief, God is hindered. Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief, Matthew 13:58. This is instructive. Jesus was with his own people. He desired to do mighty works, but couldn’t. he was hindered by their unbelief!
The Spirit of God wants us to understand there is nothing that can interfere with our coming into perfect blessing except unbelief. Unbelief is a terrible hindrance. As soon as we are willing to allow the Holy Spirit to have His way, we will find that great things will happen all the time. But oh, how much of our own human reason we have to get rid of, how much human planning we have to become divorced from. What would happen right now if everybody believed God?
How many of us believe the Word? It is easy to quote it, but it is more important to have it than to quote it. Sometimes you have quoted, “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4), and you could tell just where to find the verse. But brother, is it so? But do you really believe the word you quote severally? Why does it appear as if the word is not working? The reason is unbelief:
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Hebrews 4:2-3
If you believe, the Word works. If you dwell in Unbelief, the Word wont work. Deal with Unbelief. Ignite your faith. Combat anything that hinders your faith. Come to God believing. That is when you can enjoy the dividends of a Faith-filled life and enjoy the Rest that comes from God.
MEDITATION: with Faith, great things happen; with Unbelief, nothing happens.
