THE TEMPLE OF GOD

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17

Throughout the Old Testament, it was the temple or the tabernacle that, was called the house of God. God signified His presence there by the shekinah glory that was located in the Holy of Holies. But, today under the New Testament, it’s not a building that is the house of God but the people who are the house of God.

Notice The Apostle Paul said: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? … The temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (1 Corinthians 3:16–17). You are like a temple. You are different from everyone else, but you too are a house for the Spirit of God—the Holy Ghost.

Magnify, exalt, or honour God in your body. In other words, glorify God in your body. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:20, “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (NIV). Both your body and spirit belong to God, not to you or anyone else. Paul also says in Philippians 1:20, “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death” (NIV). Whether by life or death, let Christ be magnified or honored in your body or life. Sin does not glorify God. Flee sin. Get rid of whatever will cause you to sin (Matthew 5:29-30).

Stay in tune with the Holy Spirit for guidance in everything you do today, let him lead; and you follow his leading. That way, God is honored through you, and God has promised to purge every fruitful Christian so he can produce more fruits. John 15:2

Today listen and yield to still small voice of the Holy spirit, he will guide you unto all truth, and remember as many as are led by the spirit of the Lord are sons of God John1:12

MEDITATION: God lives in me. Do I make His habitation conducive for Him?
