TO SUCCEED IN THE NEW YEAR VI
Psalm 34:1-10
Today, we are rounding up on the series “SECRETS OF SUCCESS IN THE NEW YEAR”. We hope you have been blessed so far in applying the principles considered this week. By His grace, you shall have a great year. The last secret we are considering is the key of worship. When all else are functional, we must worship and praise God. We must give Him thanks for all His mercies. For without Him we can do nothing. When the principles are practiced and they start to work, we give Him praise. On the other hand if all else fail, Praise will still work. Take it or leave it. Worship is the trump card of the believer. See what the Psalmist says in verse one. “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth”!
At all times! Continually! This is giving God unconditional praise. This is a commitment to worship God irrespective of what happens or does not happen! This must be your focus. Determine to worship God. Let praise be your priority. Worship God for who He is. Celebrate Him for what He does. Like the Psalmist, make your boast in the Lord. Trace every rising; every goodness; every achievement back to God. Give Him the glory for everything. Never claim to be an achiever. You are only a receiver. And no one can receive anything except he is given from heaven. Don’t act as if you made it or can make it on your own.
This is the secret of David. I will bless the LORD at ALL times. Let God’s praise continually be on your lips also. Look at the benefits that followed for David. From verse 4 onwards we see lots of benefits. He sought the Lord and God heard him and delivered him from all fears. Shame was taken away (vs 5) and God delivered Him from all troubles (vs 6). He received angelic assistance (vs 7) and partook of the sweetness in the Lord (vs 8) and finally, there was abundant provision. (vs 9-10). Indeed it is good to praise the Lord at all times. Let this be your anchor this year. Let your worship surpass your requests. It is then and only then that your land shall yield her increase to you (Ps 67:5-6) and you shall have a great year.
PRAYER: I am acknowledging you Lord for who you are and what you do in my life.
