GOD IS STILL FAITHFUL
1 Samuel 17:31-37
Can you remember the lyrics of that very old song that says God will do it again? The beautiful lines go thus:
He will do it again, God will do it again, Oh yes. He will do it again
Just take a look at where you have been and where you are now
As he always comes true for you, He is the same now as then
Don’t you know God does not change? You may not know how
You may not know when, He will do it again.
Beloved whenever you find yourself in a fix just cast your mind back to God’s faithfulness in the past. What He did before, He is able and willing to do again. Have you faced trouble before and God saw you through? In the same vein and even better and faster, this time around, He will do it again. Look at David in today’s text. He was faced with Goliath. All David did was to recall God’s faithfulness in the field; how God delivered him and made him overcome the lion and the bear and he concluded that the same God will do it again.
David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hard of this Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:39
Did you see that? He had confidence in the LORD who had been faithful in the past. If he did it then, he will do it now and again. Beloved, you can count on God’s faithfulness, love and commitment to you and yours. He loves you and he is committed to your success. He has not stopped being good. If he has been good to you in previous years this year, you will see his hand in your life in several new dimensions.
Whatever you have seen in the past can be likened to the wilderness experience. It was little compared to what God is about to do. He had dealt with lions and bears for you? Now he will deal with Goliaths for you. And this will catapult you into fame. How and when this will happen is not an issue. He will just do it. After all, when David was going to the battle field, all he had in mind was to deliver stuff to his brothers. Goliath was not in his reckoning. At the end of the story, you know what God did.
This year, relax in the hands of God. He will take care of you. Trust in His faithfulness and love. If he cared for you in the past, he will do it again. If he delivered you out of danger before, he will surely do it again. Relax, all shall be well with you this year because your Father is in control.
PRAYER: Lord I thank you because you are ever faithful. I trust you to keep doing what you do in my life.
