MEGA GRACE IS YOUR PORTION XII
Genesis 8:13-22
Being grateful also means being thankful. The story of Noah in our text obviously sends a message of one who knows how to show gratitude to God. Noah and his entire household have just been saved from the flood which has wiped out the entire human race along with some animals. However, the Lord safely brought Noah and his family to a dry land. Genesis 8:15-19
Noah was able to come to the realization of what God has done for him and his household, his next action demonstrated the state of his heart. Genesis 8:20. Gratitude is a state of the heart first and foremost. When you are truly grateful from your heart you will be propelled to act accordingly.
In the case of Noah, it is noteworthy how he went about showing his gratitude. He first built an Altar, which shows it was deliberate and intentional. It also shows that it was done in order and not anyhow. Secondly, he picked from the clean and whole animals. It shows that quality matters when you offer God gratitude. Taken from the choicest of the few animals remaining not minding the extinction of such animal, shows the state of his heart towards God. It was a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto God.
When gratitude is shown from the heart and followed by commensurate actions it moves God to do more. Genesis 8:21-22. The woman with the alabaster box is our New Testament example of showing gratitude. Mark 14:3-9. So when next you realize how good God has been to you and you want to show gratitude unto Him remember Noah. Doing so attracts and multiplies grace in one’s life. After Noah sacrificed, released enormous grace, promises and commitment to multiply Noah and his household.
PRAYER: Give God thanks for his mighty acts in your life.
