HOLDING FAST TO OUR CONFESSION
Hebrews 10:23
God is good all the time. God is also faithful at all times. His word is steadfast. Forever settled in the heavens. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” As believers, we’re called to hold fast to our confession, trusting God’s promises and plans for our lives.
Holding fast to our confession means being steadfast and committed, even in the face of adversity or uncertainty. It means trusting that God is faithful and able to keep His promises, even when circumstances seem impossible.
Let’s take a moment to examine our lives. Are we holding fast to our confession, trusting God’s promises and plans for our lives? Are we being steadfast and committed, or are we wavering and uncertain?
Some examples of holding fast to our confession include Daniel’s commitment to prayer and worship, and the Apostle Paul’s perseverance in the face of persecution.
It is hard to believe how some believers want to live by something else apart from faith. What makes faithfulness meaningful is the faith content in it. It is unheard of to find a believer who is truly committed to God and His kingdom to be left forsaken. The psalmist said, “I’ve been young and now old, I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread” Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego story (Daniel 3) is ever fresh as it showcases God’s faithfulness to those who trust in Him. These Jews dared the King’s order to worship the graven image set up by him and faced the fiery furnace (bound hands and feet). Knowing God works better when you have encounter with the rhema of the word and not the surface structure meaning of the same word. Your confession will eventually become your reality if you hang on His unwavering love in the midst of battles of life.
MEDITATION: I choose to confess His word to prevail in the affairs of my world.
PRAYER: “Lord, help me to hold fast to my confession, trusting Your promises and plans for my life. Give me the strength and courage to be steadfast and committed, even in the face of adversity. Help me to apply the examples of faith in Hebrews 11 to my own life, and to trust You for guidance and provision. Amen.”
