THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH

Hebrews 11:6

We have been looking at the subject of faith for a few days now. It is imperative we ponder on today’s text. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” As believers, we’re called to live by faith, trusting God for the impossible and stepping out in obedience to His Word.

Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God, and it is the key to unlocking His promises and plans for our lives. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Lack of faith simply means we are not trusting His existence or His goodness.

Let’s take a moment to examine our lives. Are we living by faith, trusting God for the impossible? Are we stepping out in obedience to His Word, even when it is challenging?

Some examples of faith in action include Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac; Moses’ leadership of the Israelites out of Egypt; and Rahab’s protection of the Israelite spies. We can apply these examples to our own lives by trusting God for guidance and provision, just as these individuals did.

MEDITATION: It is pertinent to say, we can only survive in this world by faith and nothing else.

PRAYER: “Oh Lord, help me to live by faith, trusting You for the impossible. Give me the courage to step out in obedience to Your Word and to trust Your promises and plans for my life. Help me to apply the examples of faith in Hebrews 11 to my own life, and to trust You for guidance and provision. Amen.”
