DON’T THROW AWAY YOUR CONFIDENCE
Hebrews 10:35
Are you an ardent believer of God’s word? Are you aware of the integrity of God’s word? Hebrews 10:35 says, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” As believers, we are called to hold on to our confidence in God’s promises and plans, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
Our confidence is rooted in God’s faithfulness, His love, and His power to work all things for our good. It is a confidence that is not based on our own abilities or strengths, but on God’s sovereignty and goodness. Let’s take a moment to examine our lives. Are we holding on to our confidence in God’s promises and plans? Are we trusting that He’ll richly reward our faith and obedience?
Some examples of holding on to confidence include Abraham’s trust in God’s promise to make him the father of many nations, David’s confidence in God’s protection and guidance, and the apostle Paul’s boldness in preaching the gospel despite intense opposition. We can apply these examples to our own lives by trusting God for guidance and provision, just as these individuals did.
For instance, we can hold on to our confidence in God’s salvation, knowing that He’s saved us from sin and given us eternal life. We can also trust God’s guidance and direction, knowing that He’s leading us on the path of righteousness and purpose.
Why not think of a testimony of what God has ever done in your life in the past and rehearse same in the face of your present situation boosting your confidence in what God can do and always do.
In times of uncertainty and doubt, we can remind ourselves of God’s past faithfulness and goodness, trusting that He’ll continue to work all things for our good. We can also encourage one another, building each other up in our faith and confidence in God.
MEDITATION: My confidence in God is word based and cannot be faulted by situations and circumstances of life.
PRAYER: “Oh Lord, help me to hold on to my confidence in Your promises and plans. Give me the faith to trust Your goodness and sovereignty, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties. Help me to remember Your past faithfulness and goodness, and to trust that You’ll richly reward my faith and obedience. Amen.”
