THE FAMINE IS OVERĀ
RUTH 1:1-10
Today, we declare unto you that if there is any famine ravaging your life, it is over. It is gone with the old year. As the previous year ended the first quarter of this 21st century, so has your famine departed. You are in a new season.
Famine is not a palatable experience in the life of individuals or nations. The period of famine is a time of suffering resulting from acute shortage of food and finances. It is usually a period of general economic downturn such as the one witnessed recently on the global scene. It has been called several names: economic melt done; global recession. Whatever name we call it. It is simply a famine.
Famine can be general to an individual or a family; can be limited to a community or within or traversing national boundaries. In our text today there was famine in Bethlehem of Judah. Bethlehem means the āHouse of Breadā while Judah means praise. If there was famine where was supposed to be the house of bread and where God is to be praised, it can be anywhere. Beloved, if you are witnessing anything contrary to what God has said concerning you, it is a famine.
All of us are called wealthy possibilitarians, yet for some, to make ends meet appear impossible! This is witnessing famine in the House of Bread! But relax, the good news is that the famine is over.
Then she arose with her daughters in law that she might return from the country of Moab; for she had heard from the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. Ruth 1:6
Yes, God is visiting the land and giving his people bread.Ā In this family, Godās visitation is not periodic.Ā He is with us permanently.Ā One of our regular confessions is found in Psalm 46:7 which states: āthe Lord of hosts is with us and the God of Jacob is our refugeā.Ā Rejoice O Agape.Ā The Lord is here.Ā There is plenty of bread.Ā There will be no more deprivations.Ā There will be no more famine.Ā The Lord shall supply all needs.Ā Mark it!Ā This New Year, whatever had been insufficient before shall be abundant.Ā You shall move from just enough to more than enough.Ā Are you wondering how God will do it?Ā We also cannot tell!Ā But one thing we know is that he has done it before, and he will do it again.Ā He visited Bethlehem ā Judah and gave them bread.Ā He is here and he will do your own.Ā Remember, it may appear daunting to you; to God it is but a light thing.
PRAYER:Ā The Lord shall supply all my needs this new year.Ā I shall not witness famine.
