THE VOICE OF WISDOM
Proverbs 8:1-10, 34-36
In the scripture today, wisdom is personified as a woman calling out to all to heed her instructions. This goes to further emphasize the importance of wisdom in the life of any man. Wisdom is often described as the application of knowledge, understanding, insight, perception, intelligence, good judgment etc. Indeed, it is the key to lasting happiness and fulfillment in life.
The wisdom that you need to make meaning out of your life is not unachievable. It is readily available in and around you. In fact, it has been around since creation. All that is required for you to do is to embrace it with a simple mind. It is available to those who value it more than gold and riches. If you have riches without wisdom, you will make a mockery of it.There is nothing a man can achieve without the right application of wisdom in proper perspective.
The test of your wisdom is the motive behind all your undertakings. Verses 7 & 8 emphasize that wisdom and righteousness are Siamese twins. Where you find one, the other will be. You must weigh your actions and thoughts day by day vis-à-vis God’s righteousness. The voice of wisdom is the voice of God. Strict adherence to the dictates of God via His word is what you are called to embrace.
Your decision to heed the voice of wisdom comes with the promise of life (Verse 35). Not only will you find life but you will also obtain God’s favour. You should pursue wisdom with all it that it requires because therein your fulfillment lies.
Memory Verse: “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30).
PRAYER: Lord I desire and receive the wisdom that is from above.
