THE LAW OF CHOICES
Hebrews 11:23-27
Choice is defined as an act of choosing between two or more possibilities. When choice comes to play, it means that there are more than one options. Life is essentially a product of choices. From Genesis to Revelation, it’s been seen clearly that, the outcome of man’s destiny is a function of the choices made. The first Adam failed/died as a result of his choice to eat the forbidden fruit [Sin]. The Last Adam [Jesus] however lives forever as a result of the choice. He faced the same temptation. Should he turn stone to bread or not? Should he lay down His life for the remission of the sins of man or escape the cross? Man is a product of choice and every moment of his day and life will equally be determined by the choices he makes.
Making quality choices in life however, would be a reflection of the source of information available for taking such decisions. The original manual for running life is the best to seek for. This can only be found from the Source of all sources [God]. If he created the world, the manual for making the best of choices in life would best be found with Him.
Man being a creation of choice, does make choices every day. There are pointers on earth to how the laws of nature works. Be guided on the principle thereof. It was founded on choice. But above all is to also subject one’s will to the creator’s directive. The choice of prayers vs prayerlessness; righteousness vs sin; honesty vs dishonesty; marriage vs singleness; accepting Jesus vs rejecting Him and other life matters are made every day. Life cannot be lived in a vacuum…choices to make will always fill in the gap no matter the situation at hand.
Arise today as God’s creation of value. Determine in your heart to make Godly and goodly choices to enhance your desired dreams and aspirations. No one can pull you down without your consent. No one can make you successful too without your consent.
One thing to note about choices is that it can make or mar you. It can create or destroy. Remember Esau? He had to decide between momentary pleasure and eternal inheritance. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness springs up to cause trouble and defile many. See to it that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected. He could find no ground for repentance, though he sought the blessing with tears. Hebrews 12: 15-17
Today is the result of the choices you made yesterday, last month and previous years. What and where you are today is directly proportional to past decisions. You may not be able to change your past. But you can decide how and what tomorrow may be by the choices you make today. Choose right.
MEDITATION: Remember Esau.
