WHEN GOD HELPS YOU VI
Exodus 14:1-16
In life, there are enemies. What the enemy does is to fight you. In John 10:10, Jesus states that the enemy is a thief who comes with any or all of three missions: to steal, to kill or destroy! More often than not, we are not as strong as the enemy. But wait! We have a great God. In fact, he is greater than the one who is in the world.
One of the ways God helps his people is by fighting for them. Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14. We are familiar with this story. The Egyptians plan to overrun the Israelites. But the Lord helped them. He fought for them.
We assure you that God will fight all your battles for you. You shall overcome all enemies that rise up against you. Everyone that plans your downfall will fail and fall for your sake. Whoever digs a pit for you shall fall into it. Remember Haman? He built gallows for Modecai. But who was eventually hung on the gallows? It was Haman. That shall be the case of anyone fighting you this year.
Even when you are not aware of the plans of the enemy, the Lord will still arise on your behalf. The Israelites were on their own travelling to the promised land. They did not antagonize the Moabites. Yet, unknown to them, the king of Moab went to hire a prophet to curse Israel. But God helped them. He rose on their behalf and fought for them. “Then Balaam spoke his message:“ Balak brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains.‘ Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel. How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?” Numbers 23:7-8
As God rose to fight the course of the Israelites and put Balak and Balaam to shame, so shall he deal with your overt and covert enemies henceforth in Jesus’ name.
