GRATITUDE

Psalm 92: 1-4

In this ministry, we value gratitude. To God and to men. Our definition of gratitude is simple. We call it a “grateful attitude”.  It is a condition where you are passionately grateful and thankful irrespective of what you are enjoying or enduring. Being grateful should not be dependent on what you get or do not get.  It is being thankful at all times and in all given situations.  It is about you and God and not dependent on “things and situations”. That is why the psalmist describes it as a good thing.

It is a good thing indeed.  When you give thanks in all circumstances, good things flow towards you.  How is this possible?  Giving thanks is a commandment of God himself. “In everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”.  This is a clear instruction.  You may call it a Law.  So the Law of gratitude is that you must express it always.  In good times, give thanks.  In other moments also, give thanks.  The God on the mountain top is also the God in the valley.

Beloved, when you are grateful, great things come your way. There is an adage that says “If a child shows gratitude for yesterday’s good deeds, he will get more”. This is the law that worked for the grateful Samaritan leper.  He came back to say thank you. And went home not only cleansed but made whole.  If you obey the law of gratitude, you are on your way to wholeness.

MEDITATION:  Gratitude for past good deeds attracts more. Let this be your watchword henceforth.  You shall soon see its impact in your life.
