THE BLESSING OF THE LORD II
Deuteronomy 28:1-14
Yesterday, we started considering what happens when God blesses. Out of the seven things that come with blessing, we have identified one and this is favour. May you be favoured in Jesus Name. Now let us look at the others.
HEALTH: Sound health is a function of God’s blessing. “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee” Exodus 23:23. Can you see that? When God blesses your bread and your water, sicknesses shall be taken away. Henceforth, God shall bless you and you shall live in sound health. The promise is for you, your entire household and your animals. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth” John 2.
WEALTH: Another tributary of blessing is wealth. If you wade through the scriptures, you will discover that each of the patriarchs who were carriers of the blessing were physically wealthy. Consider Abraham: And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants and maidservants, and camels and asses”, Genesis 24:35. In the New Testament, we are told that: For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye though his poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).
From today, as God blesses you, expect wealth.
PEACE is another thing that comes with God’s blessings. Peace is what the world has been searching for through the ages but which has eluded them. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. It is the He that gives peace. God commanded Moses and Aaron to bless the people with peace; Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, on this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel…The Lord bless thee. . . The LORD Lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace,” Numbers 6:23-26.
There is a peace that passes human understanding. It keeps your enemies at bay. They cannot touch or harm you. Solomon enjoyed it. It also keeps you calm in the midst of the storms of life. Jesus enjoyed this. Beloved, the blessing of the Lord makes rich indeed and is without sorrow. It is your portion from the Lord, God of Agape. You shall enjoy it now and ever more.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, bless me indeed and in all ramifications.
