WHAT CAN FAVOR DO?
Genesis 39:1-4
Favor is likened unto a cloud of the latter rain. It is cool and refreshing. It brings hope and fruitfulness, (Proverbs 16:15). It is like the dew falling on the grass (Proverbs 19:12). It gives sustenance to life. Without it, life is a great struggle. Before we came to Akure, Nigeria, it was said that the city was too difficult for the gospel. In fact, we heard stories of men of God packing their load and relocating because the city did not receive them. But we got there and succeeded not because we did anything but because we were favored.
In Psalm 5:12, we are told that favor is a shield. It repels evil when it is coming against you. The totality of your life is dependent on favor (psalm 30:5). It preserves (Job 10:12). It is all you need to make it in life and to make it on time. It is the secret of achievers. Take Joseph for instance. It was favor that distinguished him for greater heights above his brethren.
And Joseph was brought down to Egypt and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him; and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. Genesis 39:1-4a.
When a man is favored, it guarantees the presence of the Lord. The Lord’s presence in turn causes you to prosper and succeed in whatever you do. There is also what is called Dominion Grace available to a man of favor. Whether in his father’s house as a young man, or as a slave or prisoner, Joseph was in charge of his environment. Was he that skillful? No, he only enjoyed favor. It was that favor that took him to his throne by reason of excellent wisdom.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, let your favour be reflected in all that I do and wherever I find myself on Planet earth.
