Proverbs 28:12-14
One thing that is certain is that God abhors sin. But as much as He hates sin, He loves the sinner and does not want the sinner to suffer. Because of this, He made provision for our redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In spite of this window of undeserved forgiveness, man still tries to play smart with God, forgetting that God knows and sees all things. We try to justify our actions instead of getting on our knees and asking God to forgive us our wrongs. Sometimes, we cover our sins, trying to make up with our services as if nothing is wrong. We package our wrongdoings, forgetting that nothing is hidden forever. Recall Moses killing an Egyptian and hiding the body, only to be shocked when it was revealed to Him (Exodus 2:14).
The Bible says, if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). Know this: we can never sin too little, too much, too often, or too horribly for God not to forgive us. He has more compassion for mercy than we can ever imagine. God is always ready to forgive anyone that comes to Him with a broken and contrite heart.
It is pride that keeps us from confessing our sins. Remember what happened to David when he concealed his sin? His life came to a halt (Psalm 32:1-5). But blessed is that man whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered, whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. Even if you can fool mortal man, you can never fool God. Come out clean and allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse you of all filthiness that you may walk worthy of God.
Memory Verse: “Come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18).
PRAYER: Do you feel a need for confession and making your way right with God? Go ahead and do so now. He is your Father and His compassion does not fail.
