LASTING LAUGHTER
Psalm 126:1-6
Laughter is good for it comes from a merry heart. If one is sorrowful, he cannot laugh genuinely. God’s plan for you is that you will laugh. Laughter comes as a result of joy. God is visiting you with joy. It shall not be a momentary joy but one that will last. When the Lord visited Sarah and she gave birth to Isaac, she laughed. People laughed with her and generations after her are still laughing. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. Genesis 21:6. Your joy shall not end in Jesus’ Name. Killers of joy shall fail over you.
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with LAUGHTER, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
It is not good to be in captivity. A captive is enslaved. He cannot own property. He is not entitled to any right. He cannot exercise franchise. His life is ordered by the one who held him captive. He is at the mercy of the master. In the olden days, a whole nation could be taken into captivity after being defeated in war. This is the case with Israel in the psalm we read today. The Lord had just visited them and the captives have been set free and they are returning to the homeland. It is no wonder that they burst into singing with their mouths filled with laughter!
Today, people are still held captive, some physical, some financial, some marital and some in their health. Whatever curtails your liberty in any area of your life is a slave master who had held you captive. But today, even as you read this, the Hand of God shall touch you and deliver you from captivity. We decree a turnaround in Jesus name. From now, you will be free. We release you into the glorious liberty of the sons of God. As you enter freedom, you will sing for joy. Your mouth will be filled with laughter. You will laugh like Sarah laughed. God will give you your own Isaac. People around you will declare “God has done great things for you”
