SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
Hebrews 13:1-15
Having considered several forms of offering, we now present unto you the highest form of offering you can give unto God. This is the sacrifice of praise into our God. The scripture here calls it the fruit of our lips. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13:15
You can give God any form of offering. He will accept your offering and bless you if the principles identified in this series are followed. Offer into God with a right heart; offer in love and in faith, God will accept it. He will also bless you. But above everything else, God wants you to praise him with your mouth continually. We should tell of his glorious and wonderful works. We should thank him for what he does in our lives and what he does for us including what he gives to us. It has been stated before that what we are, what we have and what we will ever be are the products of his everlasting grace and kindness. Therefore at every given opportunity, we should give him praise. We can recount his doings in words or in songs.
Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings; That I may shew faith all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation Psalm 9:12&14
In the privacy of your life, give him praise. In the congregation of people, give him praise. Tell the people of his wonderful works in your life. Do not be numbered with the ungrateful. Let God know that you are grateful. Let people around you know that you are grateful to God. Give testimonies of his loving kindness. Sing and dance before the Lord your maker. Celebrate him for every little achievement, for they are not really achievements but “receivements”. You didn’t achieve anything outside what he gives. We are receivers not achievers. This is why our praise must continually reach up to the Most High who ruleth in the affairs of men.
As possibilitarians, we are not strangers to praise and its immense benefits. We are already aware that God dwells in the midst of praise. If you praise him, he will dwell with you. When we praise him, he raises us. When we return with thanks giving for every little achievement, he does more and even bigger things. He perfects what concerns us. So as you make giving your life style, add praise to it.
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul and filleth the hungry soul with goodness, Psalm 107:8-9
ACTION: Let his praise be continually on your lips beginning from this moment.
