THE LAW OF FAILURE
Luke 14:28-30
The simple definition of failure is lack of success. Failure may also refer to a person who did not succeed in a given task or seems not to have made it in life. It may be said that Mr. X is a failure. If you would recall one character in Chinua Achebe’s epic novel, Things Fall Apart, you will understand the word failure. Unoka failed in everything considered important in life and destiny. When he died, he was buried like an outcast. You shall not be a failure in Jesus’ name. It can also refer to an event which result failed to match its expectations.
Many reasons can account for failure. It is often a result of mismanagement of resources. E.g. Human, Material and or Financial. One of these is lack of adequate planning. Lack of planning and inability to stick to rules and regulations that guard success in life endeavours will often lead to failure. The scripture above is explicit, detailing the need to put in place adequate plan to forestall non accomplishment of projects/tasks. No one in his right senses would ever set out to fail in life; but it does happen when critical steps towards fulfilment of goals and targets are neglected.
A learning personality would utmost convert failure to events and possible learning curves towards a successful end. Series of events and actions out of adequate guidance would often show lack of management and when not given proper attention would lead to failure as a result. It has been said severally that failure is the cumulative effect of a mismanaged destiny. This means, failure occurs over a period of time. In other words, success is not a bus stop but a life-time journey. Be guided, be positive, be optimistic, and be sensitive to what derails you from your focus about life and destiny.
Failure is not a destination. No. It is a bus stop and nobody in his right senses sleeps at the bus stop. It may be the curve or sharp corner on your road of destiny. When you get to unpalatable situations in your journey, you don’t stay there permanently. Never! You look around to assess the situation; debate with yourself what to do and you do it. Don’t sit down by the rivers of Babylon and start weeping. No matter what you have failed at, note that failure is just an opportunity to do it again and do it in a better way. Learn your lessons from what happened. Come on. Get up. Do it again. Success is ahead. The scriptures say if you fall seven times, get up again and again. Until you die, there is always an opportunity to make further attempts.
You need to make it a law to get your ultimate source of inspiration in life from God or His word. This is because everything can fail but not His word. Be continually updated by the Holy Spirit on what to do per time as experience may not be the best teacher. You should always remember that; you are not a product of failure. Your emergence here on earth haven survived the competition process of all the spermatozoa that became you showed your life starts with being successful. Hence, keep the flag flying all your life time.
MEDITATION: Failing is not final.
