WHEN GOD HELPS YOU II

Isaiah 41:6-16

It has been established that God has different ways of helping his people. In our last study, we were informed that he could send helpers of destiny to us. Our text today introduces us to direct intervention by God. There was nobody to help Israel in trouble and the Lord came calling:

They helped everyone his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. . . But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness,Isaiah 41:6-10

This is a clear case of divine intervention. Whatever situation you will face and it appears you are helpless, the Lord himself shall arise and intervene directly. He has different ways of doing this. Here, he promises to give strength to Israel so they could accomplish and overcome. This may be what you need, he will strengthen you. Where you think you are weak will soon become your area of strength. You will just find yourself excelling where hitherto you failed.

In another instance, God may intervene with a miracle. Remember the widow of Nain. Her son died. That son was her hope and joy since her husband died years ago. He would have succored her in her old age. But the devil came calling. He killed the son thinking no one would help the poor widow again.

When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. Luke 7:13-15

Henceforth, you shall witness numerous direct interventions of the Lord in your life and situations. God is indeed your Helper.

PRAYER: Where do you need intervention? Hand it over to God.
