YOU SHALL SING OF GOD’S GOODNESS

Psalm 73: 1-3, Psalm 23: 1-6

This is the seventh month of this year and it is almost ended. We have successfully navigated six solid months. The fact that you are reading this means that you have enjoyed God’s goodness and mercy. Therefore you can confidently sing GOD IS GOOD TO ME.  Yes!  Indeed God has been good to you. And he will yet be good to you. That is the promise of God for you for the rest of this year.  He stated it in His word and He still stands by it.  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 God has not changed.  He will do what He said He said He would do.

When you enjoy God’s goodness, the lines fall unto you in pleasant places.  You dwell in an oasis of God’s love and mercies in the midst of global deprivations and devastations. You are immune from the problems others are facing.  God’s goodness to you means nothing evil will happen to you.  It means your prayers shall be answered.  It means that your desires shall come to pass.  It means you shall enjoy peace and favour from God and from man.  It means you are exempted from shame and destruction.  The Psalmist says ”surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life” (Psalm 23:6).  This is your destiny.  It is your portion.  You shall enjoy it in Jesus Name.

There are two conditions you must meet.  The first is the condition of obedience. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord Thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: Deuteronomy 28:1. If you will obey the Lord, you will enjoy His blessings.  His blessings are His goodness.  His word is full of commandments to obey, instructions to follow and cautions to keep.  When you fully do His word, you shall eat the good of the land.  Secondly, don’t follow your own understanding.  Rely totally on the Lord.  Look at Psalm 23 again.  As long as it was the Lord, all was going well.  But the moment it switched to “I”, we saw the “valley of the shadow of death” Let the Lord lead you always.

PRAYER: I shall enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the Land of the living.
