YOUR OFFERING AND KINGDOM PROJECTS
Haggai 1:1-14
It has been established in this study series that kingdom projects will be executed by the offerings of believers in particular congregations. It is very rare for God to stir up the heart of unbelievers to come and handle kingdom projects. That building project, that hospital or educational institution, that new bus, that Radio/television program etc will be handled by no one but you. Yes you. As long as you are a member of that assembly, you have to be a part of what God is doing there. This is because of therein lies your blessing.
Consider the scripture reading for today. The house of the Lord was in ruins and the people were unconcerned! It was not a priority for them. Many said it was not yet time to build the house of the Lord whereas they dwelt in their personal well-constructed and beautifully furnished houses. Hear what the Lord Said:
Take a good, hard look at your life. Think it over. You have spent a lot of money. But you haven’t much to show for it. You keep feeling your plates, but you never get filled up. You keep drinking and drinking, but you are always thirsty. You put on layer after layer of cloth but you can’t get warm. And the people who work for you, what are they getting out of it? Not much – a leaky, rusted out bucket, that’s what, (Haggai 1:5-6, MSG)
Can you see a picture of a life struggling without results? This happened because the people neglected kingdom projects. They kept on struggling but it was like they were putting water inside a basket. Beloved, is this a picture of your life? Check it. It may be because of one kingdom project you failed to participate in or you are defaulting In one offering or the other. God himself said he blew their harvest away. He sealed off the heavens that showers of blessing should not fall. Wait for this! He called for a famine and a drought! All because the people would not give to build His house!
Beloved, it is not too late to mend your ways. The Israelites here heard the word and changed their ways. They went up to the mountains and brought materials to do the work. The house of the Lord was built. But was that the end? What about the people who built? And the elders of the Jews builded and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo … Ezra 6:14.
If you want to prosper, participate in kingdom projects. Don’t dodge. Therein lies you’re your progress.
PRAYER: Lord I repent of my negligence of the past. Henceforth, I will contribute my quota to the progress of the church as you enable me in Jesus name.
