TRUST IN THE LORD
Proverbs 3:1-12
To have faith in God is to trust Him absolutely, leaving everything in His hands. Trusting in God means more than believing in who God is and what He says. It means having unwavering faith in God’s plans and timing for your life, especially when they are not clear to you. Your trust in God is the confidence and assurance that God is able to accomplish His purpose in your life even though the situation around you says something else.
The age we are living in presently is one that takes pride in self-knowledge, ability and accomplishments, prescribing dependence on one self where you can have or be whatever you desire and pursue. We tend to forget that whatever we have or are, we have merely received from God. All of our knowledge and ability should be ascribed to God. When we lean on our own understanding, all we are doing is telling God we do not need His intervention in our lives, believing that our own knowledge, understanding, abilities and discernments are able to see us through life.
On the contrary, whatever we think we know, God knows more; whatever we think we have, God has more. And He is more than able to shame our own wisdom, using them for His greater glory. So, being wise in your own eyes is nothing but foolishness. The man that is truly wise is the one who completely puts his trust in God. “Those who leave everything in God’s hand will eventually see God’s hand in everything” – Unknown.
Memory Verse: “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, whose hope the Lord is. He shall be as a tree planted by waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the drought, neither shall cease yielding fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7 &8).
PRAYER: In You oh Lord do I put my trust. Let me never be ashamed.
