THE IMPORTANCE OF HARD WORK
Proverbs 10:4
Proverbs 10:4 says, “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” As believers, we’re called to be diligent and hardworking, recognizing that our labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). Hard work is not just about achieving success or prosperity; it’s about honoring God with our lives and being good stewards of the resources and talents He has given us. It is about being faithful in the small things, so that we can be entrusted with greater responsibilities (Luke 16:10).
Check your life. Are you diligent and hardworking, or you are slacking off and being lazy? Are you honoring God with your labor and recognizing that our work is an act of worship? Some practical ways to apply this proverb include setting clear goals and priorities, being intentional with our time and resources, and seeking accountability and support from others.
MEDITATION: An idle hand is the devils workshop. My hands will remain busy for God’s work and His kingdom.
PRAYER: “Lord, help me to be diligent and hardworking, recognizing that my labor is not in vain. Give me the strength and motivation to be faithful in the small things, so that I can be entrusted with greater responsibilities. Help me to honor You with my work and to be a good steward of the resources and talents You’ve given me. Amen.”
