LIFE’S BATTLEFIELD
2 Corinthians 10:1-5
Life is a battlefield, not a playground where Christians battle the world, flesh, and devil! This is the reality of every Christian. If you are not fighting, then someone is fighting for you. Spiritual conflict manifests in the areas that matter most: family, community, and destiny.
- Family: Many battles are generational patterns of poverty, sickness, bondage, or strife that seem to repeat themselves. These are often seen as “family altars” or ancestral covenants that need to be broken.
- Community: Entire communities may feel bound by certain limitations, stagnation, violence, or corruption that point to a collective spiritual malaise.
- Destiny: On a personal level, one’s purpose can be hindered by unseen opposition that is deeply rooted in our understanding of life.
If we choose not to come to terms with the reality that life is a battlefield and face it as such, we may become overwhelmed by the storms of life. The battles of this life cannot be won with charms or sacrifices. You can’t fight spiritual battles with physical tools because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but “mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Prayer, fasting, the name, and the blood of Jesus are the potent weapons against the wiles of the devil. So, you need not be intimidated by the battles.
Here lies our confidence: 1 Corinthians 15:57: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 8:37: “In all these things, we are more than conquerors.” Psalm 34:19: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers…” Be strong and of good courage, the battle is the Lord’s and not yours.
PRAYER: Father, I pray that you will fight my battles for me in Jesus’ name
