YOU SHALL STILL SING
Ruth 1:1-22
I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
Remember the lyrics of this ageless song? It is a song of hope; a song of joy, a song of faith and a song of contented assurance that comes in resting on the unfailing arms of the Lord. Things may happen contrary to your expectations, yet you have faith that it will still turn around for your good.
The experience of Ruth in this chapter was bitter. She lost her husband and two sons. She went out full and come back empty. She concluded that “the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me”. Has there been a time you almost come to this kind of conclusion? Here you ever felt that God is no longer on your side? Relax, the story did not end in Chapter one. By the end of the book, Naomi could only say, Truly God is good!.
We know that the year is far spent and we believe God has been good to you since January. There is no doubt about that. That you are alive, hail and hearty enough to read this is an evidence of His goodness. Besides this, you have enjoyed God’s goodness in other areas too numerous to mention. We have heard big testimonies from all over the camp this year and we know you are one of them.
Nevertheless, in case your situation is like the Naomi found herself at the beginning of the book of Ruth, relax God is still on your case. He will do something. Remember, He is the God of the eleventh hour. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. Day and Night are alike in His presence. Your thinking may not be His thinking. But one thing is sure; before this month is concluded, you shall enjoy His goodness. Your song shall be “Truly God is my delight”
MEDITATION: Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life, Psalm 23:6
