GRACE FOR FAITHFULNESS
Galatians 5:22-23
To be “faithful” is to be reliable or trustworthy. For the Christian, this is faithfulness specifically to the Savior who redeemed us. Christian faithfulness therefore, is continued and consistent submission and obedience to the same Spirit who provides the ability for us to be faithful. This attitude is in direct contrast to our previous “faithfulness” to our own sinful desires and ways. The word also describes someone willing to suffer persecution and even death for Christ’s sake. “Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.” (2 Thessalonians 1:4).
It is pertinent on us to know that, the devil never gives up on any believer no matter his/her status in the kingdom. You need the fruit of faithfulness to endure to the end/coming of Jesus. Whosoever shall endure to the end shall be saved. Pleasures of life offering distractions via sin to us can only be shunned via faithfulness to serving God. Faithfulness to reading and listening to His word is the pathway to victory for any triumphant believer in the world of today.
Are you willing to serve God in your local assembly or go round fifty two churches in fifty two weeks of this year? Faithfulness is a spirit. Rebellion is equally a spirit. It’s better to start something you’ve had good tutelage on than rush out with less training to mess the entirety up in no time. Please be approved of God and good mentors so you can last in the world of today.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, teach me to remain faithful to your word and promises shunning all distractions.
