FAITH IN ACTION
Hebrews 11:1
Hebrews 11 is often referred to as the “Hall of Faith”, where we see examples of men and women who demonstrated extraordinary faith in God. From Abel to Abraham, from Moses to Rahab, these individuals trusted God and saw Him work mighty deeds through them.
As believers, we’re called to live by faith, trusting God for the impossible and stepping out in obedience to His Word. This means believing that God is who He says He is and doing what He says He will do, even when it seems impossible or unreasonable. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). It’s the foundation of our relationship with God, and it’s the key to unlocking His promises and plans for our lives.
We should be able to challenge ourselves. Are we living by faith, trusting God for the impossible? Are we stepping out in obedience to His Word, even when it’s challenging? Some examples of faith in action include Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac, Moses’ leadership of the Israelites out of Egypt, and Rahab’s protection of the Israelite spies. We can apply these examples to our own lives by trusting God for guidance and provision, just as these individuals did.
MEDITATION: I will live by faith and not by sight.
PRAYER: “Oh Lord, help me to live by faith, trusting You for the impossible. Give me the courage to step out in obedience to Your Word and to trust Your promises and plans for my life. Help me to apply the examples of faith in Hebrews 11 to my own life, and to trust You for guidance and provision. Amen.”
